about me and my blog
Move Me to the Sun is a blog by me, Kemi.
I'm an educator and curriculum developer with a focus in environmental studies/science and food systems. Most of what I do is meant to help us (all of us, human and nonhuman) face our socio-ecological predicament with curiosity, joy, and conviction.
I run, dance, lift, write, teach, collaborate, and farm. I think in lyrics from musicals, scenes from television shows, lines from poems, etc.
I've got one foot planted in the tri-state area, another planted in the Upper Valley of Vermont, and a hand reaching for Kenya where my family is from.
Move Me to the Sun is my latest attempt to sort out my thoughts about humanity's relationship to the rest of the Earth through reflection on practice, attention, mediation, embodiment, and art. It's also, itself, a public writing practice in the most straightforward sense of the word. It's iterative and ongoing and you're most likely to enjoy it if you take your time and walk with me. Don't think too hard about it. Or maybe think really hard about it, it's up to you.
I made an Instagram account to go with it: @movemetothesun. It's mostly words juxtaposed in ways that made me go 😮😵💫😌🧐.
